Andrew Bissot

Vice President – Engineering, Manufacturing Excellence, and Reliability, Metallus

Andrew joined Metallus in May 2021 and is responsible for implementing a manufacturing excellence philosophy, processes, and best practices centered around company-wide strategies to deliver a more cost-effective and sustainable approach to ensuring the reliability of the company’s assets and business processes. Prior to his work at Metallus, Andrew held several leadership roles with Outokumpu, a global leader in stainless steel, and he served as the director of strategic manufacturing capability at United States Steel Corporation. With over 24 years of experience, Andrew has dedicated his career to coaching and leading teams on the principles of lean management and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production, reduce costs, and eliminate waste. Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Duquesne University. He possesses an Executive Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame – Mendoza College of Business, a Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Executive Certificate in Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies from the University of Cambridge. Andrew serves as a trustee on the AIST Foundation Board of Trustees, an advisor for the U.S. Research Impact Alliance (USIRA), a member of the SMRP Best Practices Committee, and holds a lead position on the IAM Competences Framework Review.
